Meet the Woodturner; Stewart Furini

Stewart FuriniTurning started as an occasional hobby, and has now become a major part of my life. From making a simple turned bowl, to creating a highly decorative piece, embellished with texture and colour, turning keeps my feet on the ground and gives me a wonderful creative outlet. It's a great counter-balance to my job as a teacher in a large comprehensive school.

The Video Gallery gives you some idea of the type of work I produce and shows how I achieve some of the decorative effects. If you like the videos, it would be great if you subscribed to my YouTube channel.

I am available to do demos at clubs - see my Demos page for more details. In 2018 I demonstrated at UKIWS and I was the opening demonstrator at Chestnut Products' Woodturning Weekender in 2019. In 2020 I was expecting to demo at a number of woodturning clubs and at Axminster's High Wycombe store and the Irish Woodturners Guild Seminar. Unfortunately, these events were cancelled, though I have been able to offer online demos to woodturning clubs via Zoom, and was one of the demonstrators at Chestnut Products' Virtual Woodturning Weekender.

My work is available to buy.  If you see something you like in one of my galleries, or on my For Sale page, please contact me. If it has been sold, I'd be happy to discuss making something similar for you. Alternatively, if you see a colouring effect you like in one of my videos and would like something similar, I'd love to hear from you. My website is not yet set up to take payments, so any purchases will need to be made by contacting me first.

Contact me on the email shortcut near the top of my page, or use the form on my Contact page.
